Each tape is played back on a deck in real time and captured to a clean, labeled MP4 file. Tapes are handled locally — never mailed out.

Return on USB + cloud
You get your tapes back plus a USB drive and a secure cloud download of every recording.

Free home pickup and return runs roughly 30 miles from downtown Chicago — including Logan Square, Hyde Park, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Oak Park, Evanston, Skokie, Cicero, Berwyn, Oak Lawn, Schaumburg, Naperville, Arlington Heights and Palatine. Outside that radius we can usually arrange a meet-up.

What tape formats can you transfer?+
VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV, Digital8, Hi8 and standard 8mm. If you're unsure what you have, bring them and we'll identify them at pickup.
How long does a tape transfer take?+
Transfers run in real time, so a two-hour tape takes about two hours to capture. Most orders are returned within 7–10 business days.
What if a tape is moldy or broken?+
We'll assess it at pickup and let you know before doing anything. Many damaged tapes can still be recovered; we'll quote any extra cleanup up front.
What files will I receive?+
Standard MP4 files, one per tape, labeled and named — delivered on a USB flash drive and through a secure cloud download.
